Welcome to Duke Evett, Marissa M. Brakes!

Duke Evett is pleased to announce Marissa M. Brakes has joined our team.

Marissa has a litigation practice primarily focused in Southwestern Idaho. Her practice areas include professional liability, product liability, and other personal injury defense matters. Marissa was born and raised in Juneau, Alaska. After high school, she attended Boise State University and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, with a minor in English. Marissa graduated from the University of Idaho College of Law in 2021.

During law school, Marissa was elected as her class’s Student Bar Association representative. As the representative, she lobbied for her classmates’ concerns and interests. In her third year of law school, Marissa was selected as one of a handful of interns for the University of Idaho’s Family Justice Clinic. In this position, she provided free legal services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence, child abuse, and elder abuse and was able to assist and handle all aspects of her clients’ civil case from beginning to end.
