Emma C. Nowacki

Emma specializes in employment and civil-rights law, professional malpractice, and commercial litigation.  She has tried many cases to verdict, including most recently a whistleblower action that resulted in a jury verdict of no liability for her client.

Prior to joining Duke Evett, Emma worked as a Deputy Attorney General in the Civil Litigation Division of Office of the Attorney General for the State of Idaho.  As a Deputy Attorney General, she defended state agencies in employment and civil-rights litigation. Additionally, Emma acted as lead investigator in employment investigations and trained other Deputy Attorneys General on workplace investigations.  She also conducted respectful workplace trainings for various state agencies.

Emma began her career as a prosecutor in Chicago where she tried over fifteen jury trials and over a hundred bench trials. Emma also worked in the Appellate Division where she drafted appellate briefs on felony cases and argued cases before the Illinois Appellate Court.
